Posting from the session from the other week. Progress feels quite slow, im trying a lot of different things and techniques to make watercolors do something that resembles my intentions. Wasn’t going to post because there is a lot of bad efforts lately (also when painting), but I like to see other people’s sketches too and I’m cheering them on in their artistic struggle even or especially when they don’t make highly commercially exploitable pictures.

At the sessions I am going to we are doing quick poses too (2-5 minutes) and I am using pencil for those. Included one from the last session that I liked. I’ll get there, one day!

I had some more chance to practice with my watercolors. I think I like the whole outline- filling im thing for now, forces me to make decisions about the design and stick to them. Also, maybe to plan out my drawings more.

It’s weird how I feel like I have less control the more I am doing these. I would have to do more and serious daily studies to get somewhere worthwhile I fear. I don’t really want to do that though. I have a stack of A5 paper im working through, after that I’ll be switching to pastels. Until then I’ll just try to gain some insights from this.

I had little time this week so I only attended one figure drawing session instead of my usual two. So I included some pencil drawings from last week, I am still trying out new techniques for all the media I use. With watercolor, I decided to get dark faster now. See if that helps. With pencil, i am doing some more hatching, but try to alter the line quality of the hatch marks instead of just drawing more of them.

Aand another figure drawing session this week :) at the very least, I am getting faster. This time, we only had 15 minute poses for the watercolors but I think I managed to get to a point.
