it's not really the same type of platform, but bandcamp works well for buying music (semi-)directly from artists; then just download it and play it from your local device :)

in the end, bandcamp is also owned by some lousy company tho, so it will eventually enshittify. many artists are moving to selfhosting using things like faircamp, or move to platforms like @mirlo :) these are quite small tho, for now!
