Ql̓ispé
14" x 14"
Acrylic on canvas
Inspired by a serene summer day on Priest Lake in Idaho.
For thousands of years, people have roamed these shores and paddled these waters.
Long before the arrival of Jesuit priests and European settlers, this lake was a seasonal destination for the Ql̓ispé tribe.
I've been reading up on whatever history and folklore I can find relating to this area. Still, so much has been obscured by time and colonization.
