I know there are bigger problems in the world, but one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood, Dumpling Specialist, recently changed hands.

I'm guessing Paul Yu decided to retire for good this time. (see link)

I finally worked up the courage to try it this weekend, under new management. And well... the results are disappointing. Everything is fine? But it's very standard Chinese American food. Beef and broccoli still has beef and broccoli, but lacks Paul's unctuous glossy multidimensional sauce.

Oh well. There are certainly plenty of Chinese places to eat at around here, but that one was regular staple for us.
