Today is Native Women's Equal Pay Day. In the US, the pay gap between white women and Black and brown women, is greater than the pay gap between white women and white men. There's a sleight of hand that often happens: when we talk about pay gaps, we talk about all women (to maximise the perceived gap), but the remedies usually benefit white women (because racism).
We could close more of the pay gap by addressing racism

Anyway, here's a talk I gave at Refactr, with some strategies for making sure that underrepresented and underestimated people are fairly compensated. This includes women of all racial and ethnic backgrounds. This helps close pay gaps, retention gaps, and moves things from "good intentions" to "intentional actions"

Please forgive the bad audio recording, complete with echoes and my kids ad libbing in the background. Happens.
