Lola Falafel has discovered a new trick, and I swear she's getting endless amusement from tormenting me with it.
I spend a lot of time on the Mirra chair in front of the studio computer, but I inevitably need to get up for one thing or another … tea, a snack, my phone – for a quick photo like this one –
and that’s when Lola makes her move, and appropriates the empty chair. She knows I don’t have the stomach to oust her from it (just look at that smirk)
so I get a little stool from the bedroom to hunch at the desk with, and wheel her chair out of the way.
Once I’ve been sitting again for a few minutes, she loses interest and goes looking for a sunny spot to lie down. This happens two or three times a day.
I’m convinced she knows exactly what she’s doing – she’s very fast. I don’t even need to leave the room to lose my seat.
