Here is my processed version of the Elephants Trunk nebula, in the constellation Cepheus. IC 1396B is a dense cloud of gases, getting ionized by a nearby hot star, and is about 2,400 light years away from Earth.
I took this image with my little toy Seestar30 smart telescope! It is the result of about eight hours of integration time. It was stacked using @naztronomy's smart telescope script in Siril, and I used Starnet++ to stretch the nebula and stars separately. This is also the first time I have played around with extracting a synthetic luminance channel, where I did the bulk of my noise reduction and sharpening, and then adding back in the color data to produce the final version. #astrophotography
PS: I hope all you Blood Moon picture-getters out there had clear skies.
